A Case of Tufted Hair Folliculitis

Abstract

|
We reprt a case of tufted hair follicuitis in a 54-year-old man. The patient presented with a scarring alopecia on the scalp, which started with a purulent discharge and crust. Physical examination disclosed multiple bundles of hairs emerging
from
single dilated follicular opening. Bacteial culture grew staphylococcus aureus, but fungal culture from the affected area was negative.
